LML producer Mark Ferns’ palate for the Arts is eclectic, playful, refined and unpredictable. So, you can imagine how Van Fringe is really his jam! This year at the fest he happens to be the only LML member with a Fringe artist pass (lucky!) as a cast member in Pretty Ugly Theatre’s Rachel and Zoe: Uncorked and Uncensored.
Here are five shows you’ll find Ferns Fringeing at this weekend:
Wasteland – A comedy that takes place INSIDE A DUMPSTER!!!! How can one not be attracted to that?! Poignant as ever. Should be a thinker that makes us laugh. Also, look at that kickass poster!!
Dear Elizabeth – “From 1947 to 1977, Pulitzer Prize winning poets, Robert Lowell and Elizabeth Bishop exchanged more than 400 letters.”
I’m always intrigued by the part of peoples’ lives that one doesn’t ever get to see.
The talented and emotionally open and giving Alexis Kellum-Creer is in a show. That means I want to see it!! Have I successfully gone to see one of her shows? Dammit…..I haven’t. So this is the time!! Produced by Wonderdog Theatre, always making interesting shows.
Awkward Hug – ……..mostly because I gave Cory an awkward hug. Then I looked up the show and I seems really good. A perspective that most people will not have ever had to go through.
Traveltheatrics – Anything Keara does is always infused with layers of depth and she is a masterful storyteller. And CJ McGillivray doing sound design? Damn I’m there.
Hardly Trying – A one woman show by Laurel A. Trueman. We got Laurel hooked on the Fringe last year when we were in Kurt Vonnegut’s The Euphio Question. I’m excited to see what she has come up with on her own. In rehearsals Laurel always came with lots of energy, opinions, and non-stop singing of Hamilton songs.
Thank you. Cum see me in Rachel & Zoe: Uncorked And Uncensored!!
Happy Fringeing!!
