Coming March 2020: 24 Stories Written by Kids

We’re thrilled to announce our first project in almost two years: 24 Stories Written by Kids a new piece featuring twenty-four original scripts from young author/directors, performed by a team of professional stage actors.

We’ll be presenting these stories first in the students’ school on March 3rd, but we’ll also ensure the public gets a chance to enjoy the fun! We’ll have a one-night only special performance at The Cultch Historic Theatre on Thursday, March 5th at 7:30pm.

The project’s goals are to connect the student author/directors to their own creative impulses, and to the larger arts community. Over the course of three workshops, 24 elementary school students will collaborate with four professional theatre artists as they each write and direct their own dramatic works.

24 Stories will be performed and facilitated by director Laura McLean and actors Leah Fong, Chris Cochrane, and LML’s Matt Clarke. This project is funded in part through the City of Vancouver Community Arts Grant Program.

LML is extremely grateful for the support of the CoV, and we hope to reach more students and artists in the future through projects similar to this across Vancouver.
